History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. When Howard reached his early adolescence his Halfling father passed away. Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, he decided to travel. His rounds led him into the Army with a few individuals who would become his life-long companions. He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.

She did not win them back, but she came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. She has became unsatisfied with her lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.

Her biggest love is that of knowledge and as such will purchase any books or pay to listen to tales that travelers might have.

History: Her history is one of pain. She was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves her parents kept. At some point she was captured by dire rats and was tortured. After several years of this she finally managed to escape. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.
