During his travels, Gimble and his party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Gimble discovered the rest of his party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Gimble fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing his own horrible transformation.

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. He always admired divine-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Motivation: To share knowledge with the world; and he wants nothing more than to rejoin the army

He disdains his fellow southerners, claiming they make him look unintelligent just for using an accent.

History: He was born in the south, but his parents moved at a very young age to the west. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Mortician. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Mortician.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Mortician responsibilities is difficult; and to end his boredom

His partner is his best friend in the world. The two are very close despite being more or less each other's opposites. He is lazy and tries to find solutions quickly.

History: Paymon was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his mother was employed at, doing general labor. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Sculptor hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He has dedicated himself to building a better kind of golem.
