History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her mother always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Tieflings in Mastema's homeland. Mastema decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: She is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences her actions; and wishes to resurrect an old love
