He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

History: Gifted from a young age, Leaf studied abroad. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Leaf grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Leaf. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Spice Merchant for hire.

She spends most of her days drinking in the Inn, the rowdiest and most dangerous establishment in town. There she gambles, wrestles and listens to stories told by travelers.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Liftrasa was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She inherited a moderately successful company from her mother. Under her leadership it has flourished, and using capital from her venture she effectively owns an entire region. One night she noticed a nearby shooting star which she hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. She has done her darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.
