History: Born to a poor family in the city she treasured whatever gifts she got. A gypsy cursed her at a young age, leading to her ugly appearance. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: She is currently in port desperately looking for someone to get her out; and she wants nothing more than to rejoin the army

He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: He got into the Miller business at a young age. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Barakas grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Barakas. He has gone from town to town till he finds a spot where he can set up a sustainable business.

Motivation: He's repulsed by the PC; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions
