History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Verna was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She was taken as a slave by a traveling circus and forced to perform She was forced to fight in gladiatorial arenas alongside her partner. They became the best of friends and one day they managed to break out together and then went their separate ways.

Motivation: She made a deal with a demon which lead to her current lot in life, and she's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and to pay off her debts

History: Born the oldest of a large religious southern family, she was no stranger to responsibility. She dropped out of school before completing her studies. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.
