History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Thervan was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. A few years later when the west was not economically sound they moved to his current location. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Blacksmith they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. He worked as a Locksmith, and he later adopted a second daughter.

History: Ulfgar was raised in a hard working conservative environment. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He left for the south, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: Balancing her hectic life and new Butcher responsibilities is difficult; and she feels the way she acts is they only way to get by in the world

History: Born in the north his family was never financially stable. Peren was born on a far northern island where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Priest. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
