History: Bhevek was born in the west. At a young age he loved to build and create. He inherited a moderately successful company from his father. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

She is motivated by money and will often try and persuade people to work for cheap. She haggles over everything, upselling her goods and buying cheap. She is persistent in everything.

History: She was born in the south. Her family was turned out during the war. She and her family wandered south to less war torn lands. She has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

Motivation: She feels that her past leaves her morally obligated to help; and balancing her hectic life and new bookbinder responsibilities is difficult

Personality: She likes to make people angry or surprised. The occasional robbery is her preferred attention getting crime, but she mainly uses her means for meeting her own perverse desires.

History: She was born into a rich family. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Valanthe grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Valanthe. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
