It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

History: Gifted from a young age, Pirithin studied abroad. His homeland was ravaged by war and he spent much of his life rebuilding it. He has became unsatisfied with his lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.

History: She is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. Before the accident, she was one of the most outspoken anti-Tiefling activists. She was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Tiefling doctor. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

She survived everyday through hunting and stealing from passersby. She did whatever it took for her to survive. She now mingles about in high society.

Personality: A skeptical and narcissistic woman, Artin's first love is herself. Her second love is also herself. She is cautious and jumpy. She reacts to every sound and lacks any concept of subtlety.

History: Born to a poor family in the city she treasured whatever gifts she got. Her mother was very strict, and drilled into her lessons on being the perfect lady. Recently a tribe of goblins attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Artin fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.
