History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Meriele was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. When she was little, her rather wealthy family often ventured across the desert to a summer home near a large cave. She would wander through that large cave and adventure through it for days. One day while adventuring a terrible storm took place and she was stranded inside. Her family spent the next few days looking for her, and could only assume she was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the desert due to the painful memories there. Meriele took refuge in the large cave and found the beat up glaive and armor she uses now. Personality: She is quiet and anti-social and can barely make it a few minutes in conversation before her hampering stammer kicks in. She is a big fan of imagination and believes people should spend more time reading and writing.

History: A powerful brothel owner made her what she is. She inherited a moderately successful company from her mother. Under her leadership it has flourished, and using capital from her venture she effectively owns an entire region. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

Her uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took her in and had her trained in basic self defense.
