He found a children's book about a Tiefling Bard who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by giants. Pelaios was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the giants.

History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his father. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Gnomes in Oppleby's homeland. Oppleby decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.
