Through the years after Emmeline was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Emmeline's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: He was born in a small plains village. Kody liked to wander the woods near his home when he was young, something he still likes to do at least once a week. He never liked modest clothing or shoes, so he would wander the woods barefoot and lightly dressed, and he developed a good sense of balance and learned how to climb and swim well. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

History: She got into the Mortician business at a young age. In her formative years she discovered how persuasive she was. She began using that to her advantage selling useless wares at inflated prices. When her spouse passed she lost her only source of income but claims to her daughters to still be retired.

Motivation: Her religion dominates her actions.

Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Chay embodies much of what other species detest in the Halflings. He takes great pride in his work and is very well organized. His planner is full of calendar events.

History: He was born into a rich family. He helped his father out around the business and became quite the natural. He now mingles about in high society.

Motivation: He'd like to take his coworkers down a peg; and balancing his hectic life and new scribe responsibilities is difficult
