She is often prim and proper but will on occasion tell either really disgusting or offensive jokes, which seem out of character.

History: Merla hails from a village terrorized by brigands. Through the years after Merla was born, her father became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. History: He was raised in a desert tribe. He moved out south to avoid the crime he committed. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and he has comitted a past crime that haunts him to this day
