Her father had died from a severe disease that was unknown to the village doctor. Phann was heart-stricken from the event, and her mother started working long hours to provde for them. She has been saving her money to try and buy her brother's freedom.

Though less modest and more hasty in her reactions to snap at those who irritate her, Joan is combative with any and all who dare try her patience in the slightest.

History: The child of northern immigrants she idolized her mother. Like her mother and her sister before her, after school she went straight into learning to become a Laborer. She left for the north, certain she would find work there.

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered painting. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
