History: Beiro lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. His mother was a soldier and died while he was still young. Beiro was left his mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He has been saving his money to try and buy his brother's freedom.

History: Born in a small village she learned the ways of the warrior from her mother. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Shax grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Shax. She has since lost track of the people in her past.
