History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. He was an apprentice working in his father's forge. He's also a talented Guard, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Therlin was born on a far northern desert where she grew up under the tutelage of her mother, an expert Map Maker. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: To get a good night's sleep; and she is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences her actions
