Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Ekk grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Ekk. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: He was born to a criminal king-pin and mafia family Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Humans in Diggory's homeland.
