History: He got into the Blacksmith business at a young age. A gifted student he started as a Herbalist, but he got bored and became a Blacksmith. He is searching for what he claims is his rightful reward.

Motivation: To settle down with his crush; and balancing his hectic life and new blacksmith responsibilities is difficult

Personality: She is quite rude, and likes to deride her opponents skill and shout insults at them. She also is a firm believer in the womanly ideal.

History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Kite was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She moved from fad to fad and when she turned 15 she discovered painting. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: She cares much about the opinion of others, both in good and in bad: when keeping in line with her opinion, she thinks highly of the other person, but when opinions clash, she can get violently argumentative. She invented a lineage for herself and claims to be descended from several legendary heroes.

History: Her father raised her in a mountain cabin. When she came of age, she joined a caravan that would eventually take her to the capital. She would practice along the way and, when she arrived, be apprenticed to a Spy. She has set out to sabotage the competition.
