The brigands captured her, and made her a slave and general play-thing. She was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to her deformed appearance. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

Personality: She likes to make people angry or surprised. Her brief stint in the army gave her the idea she was invincible and that she is the toughest woman alive.

History: Heir to a fortune, her parents put a great deal of effort into curing her disease. Her mother was a soldier and died while she was still young. Herleva was left her mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. After a long history of fighting, Herleva and her spouse have recently divorced.

Motivation: She has money and likes to spend it; and she is greedy
