History: Mantus was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his father was employed at, doing general labor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Sellsword responsibilities is difficult; and he is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs

History: She is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. In her 12th year, while out on a day-trip, she returned to find her hometown burning and destroyed. She found her father impaled in their home, and her mother beheaded. She saw the woman who walked out, and charged her in a blind rage. The woman easily evaded and defeated her, leaving her to live broken and terrified. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.
