He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: River hails from a village terrorized by gnolls. Because his father participated in the massacre of their homeland, gnolls burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the south, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his mother from journeying south to reunite his family. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Gifted from a young age, Gomory studied abroad. Her father disappeared, and while she tried to raise money to find her father, she was betrayed dozens of times. She spent several years traveling with her friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.
