Personality: Soft-spoken and well mannered, he has an amazing amount of patience and a slow boiling temper. More though he will beg to come along on any journeys. He will attempt to stowaway on any ship he can in the hopes that it will get him further away.

History: When he was but 6 years old his parents immigrated from the west. In his 13th year, his parents were killed by a gnolls raid, leaving Gilthur alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by gnolls, and he desires to right it; and he is currently in port desperately looking for someone to get him out

Recently a tribe of gnolls attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Merla fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.
