History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Mialee grew up listening to her mother's many stories. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

Personality: She believes there is no problem she cannot solve with sufficient elbow grease and persistence, if it is the best or most economic solution matters not. She is an amazing painter.

History: From birth she was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. She always admired druidic-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. One night she noticed a nearby shooting star which she hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. She has done her darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Motivation: Wants her loneliness to end; and an old rival family wants her found

History: His history is one of pain. He was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves his parents kept. At a young age both his parents were killed in an accident. His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature ceremonial dagger.

Her voice is smooth and creepy, always level, but somehow just slightly unnerving.

Personality: She is extraordinarily eccentric. She has a habit of throwing herself into exceedingly dangerous situations.

History: When she was but 7 years old her parents immigrated from the west. When she came of age, she joined a caravan that would eventually take her to the capital. She would practice along the way and, when she arrived, be apprenticed to a Beggar. She tends to her Beggar job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations she has.

Motivation: She is not mentally stable, and does not behave rationally; and to be a cartwright again
