History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. Raer was a troubled youth. History: Gifted from a young age, Barakas studied abroad. In his 11th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Barakas alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.
