History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Through the years after Faran was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Faran's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: His divine talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, his parents had him trained. His father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: She was raised happily, as a normal child born to her mother and father. Her mother taught her the rudiments of the Glassblower arts, while her father instructed her in etiquette, music and courtly manner. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Hlin grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food.
