History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. His mother worked until he suffered an accident while they were digging through a hill for a new route. He had to support his now crippled mother and took his mother's old job. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Her history is one of pain. She was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves her parents kept. When the war came and ruined her parents she was left adrift. She was a hard woman then and has only learned to fight more as time goes on. She saw the violence of war and the aftermath so she converted to religion and dedicated herself to non-violence.
