History: He was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for him. It may also be what makes him so good at details. Through the years after Conrad was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Conrad's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He would ruin relationships and cause injury. She got caught, but did not rat out her comrades and served her time in prison. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

History: Matilda hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. She took every job she could get her hands on, but the opportunities for Half-Elves in the west were limited. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by dire rats. Matilda was horrified and prayed that her mother was alright. However, she heard that her mother had died fighting off the dire rats.
