History: Born to a Painter, her father struggled to pay the bills. Through the years after Marastyr was born, her father became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Marastyr's father didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Her father taught her the rudiments of the Layabout arts, while her mother instructed her in etiquette, music and courtly manner. She was an apprentice working in her father's forge. She has built up a small fortune and can afford her own way.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. He always admired divine-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. He has since married many spouses, only to have them die. He claims to not be responsible.
