When his mother died while fighting drow, the young Cloak began to lead the lost caravan. He ran away from his former home and has been making his living as a Scribe for the past few years.

Motivation: Many drow want him driven away; and balancing his hectic life and new scribe responsibilities is difficult

History: Shadow lived on a farm with her father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Her spouse left her for another, whom she beat to an almost bloody pulp. She did not win them back, but she came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. She has since lost track of the people in her past.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of her sister; and to unite with her sister
