History: Nalaed hails from a village terrorized by drow. Because her mother participated in the massacre of their homeland, drow burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. She was preparing to flee to the south, but the outbreak of war prevented her and her father from journeying south to reunite her family. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to drow demanding more tribute than usual.

History: When he was but 8 years old his parents immigrated from the north. Being born in the north, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He was a general practitioner in the north for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way west. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.
