Due to her spouse's obsession with being a Fletcher they were divorced and she won custody of their son. She worked as a Fisher, and she later adopted a second son.

His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his mother's willingness to do anything to win. Recently he has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and to get a good night's sleep
