History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. Her mother was a soldier and died while she was still young. Vani was left her mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. When her spouse passed she lost her only source of income but claims to her sons to still be retired.

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. When Leaf reached his early adolescence his Tabaxi father passed away.
