History: His arcane talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, his parents had him trained. Ostracized due to the arcane powers of his oldest sister, he and his siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Gnomes became a terror of the countryside. Some 5 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son. Heartbroken, Alston never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his mother had trained him before.

She tries to control her temper but she can't always stop herself from what she feels what must be done. Her respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to her, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, she tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in her reactions to snap at those who irritate her, Syllin is combative with any and all who dare try her patience in the slightest.
