History: Bertram was born in the north. At a young age he loved to build and create. His father was a mechanic, and taught him how to fix just about anything. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by drow, and he desires to right it; and he feels the way he acts is they only way to get by in the world

History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Half-Elves in Balimaar's homeland. Balimaar decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
