During his travels, Quarethon and his party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Quarethon discovered the rest of his party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Quarethon fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing his own horrible transformation.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. In his 17th year, his parents were killed by a goblins raid, leaving Kaladan alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Recently a tribe of goblins attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Kaladan fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Motivation: Several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge.

History: Born in a small village she learned the ways of the warrior from her mother. When Ilga reached her early adolescence her Half-Orc mother passed away. Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, she decided to travel. Her rounds led her into the Army with a few individuals who would become her life-long companions. She tends to her Cartwright job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations she has.

She spends most of her days drinking in the Inn, the rowdiest and most dangerous establishment in town. There she gambles, wrestles and listens to stories told by travelers.

History: She was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. While she appears to be a normal Dragonborn, she's... not quite right. Perhaps she's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that she plain doesn't fit in. When she grew older, she became a bit more civilized, usually hanging around bars and taverns. She began work as a mercenary for hire. She would embark on any mission as long as the price was right.

Motivation: Obtaining odd cultural Gnomish artifacts is her passion.

History: Abad was raised in a hard working conservative environment. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He has gone from town to town till he finds a spot where he can set up a sustainable business.

Motivation: He feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help; and seeks redemption
