Her father had died from a severe disease that was unknown to the village doctor. Margery was heart-stricken from the event, and her mother started working long hours to provde for them. When her spouse passed she lost her only source of income but claims to her daughters to still be retired.

History: She was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of her parents. Through the years after Traulam was born, her father became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Traulam's father didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: His arcane talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, his parents had him trained. His arcane abilities were realized during a raid on his village. He ran away from his former home and has been making his living as a Spice Merchant for the past few years.

She was regularly beaten by her mother, who blamed her for driving them apart. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: She feels kind of lost in life.

History: Born in the east to a Carter, Donella learned a great deal about her father's area of expertise. She worked as a nervous Carter and found it very stressful. She has set out to sabotage the competition.
