History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Bernard was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. A few years later when the east was not economically sound they moved to his current location. Recently a tribe of illithids attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Bernard fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

History: Trained by her father for as long as she can remember she had it drilled in her head that it was her duty to serve her country. When Eva reached her early adolescence her Human father passed away. Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, she decided to travel. Her rounds led her into the Army with a few individuals who would become her life-long companions. She has never given up on her dancing dream.

History: Born to a Hunter, his father struggled to pay the bills. In his youth he was a Hunter, and wanted to be a champion fighter when he grew up. He was working during a period of war, and as one of the natives he lived in fear of joining the others in being slaughtered. He saw the brutality and swore off his fighting aspirations, taking his younger brother on his back after seeing his parents die, and fled the country. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Rose was born with her mother's beautiful face. She was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. She never won. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.
