History: The child of southern immigrants he idolized his father. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: He feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help; and he is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions

History: Balimaar was born the youngest of three triplets. He helped his father out around the business and became quite the natural. He was always very intelligent and has formed a secret society of philosophers.

History: Born in the north to a Map Maker, Shane learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. He worked as a nervous Map Maker and found it very stressful. Recently the stress of being a Map Maker has made it difficult for him to sleep.
