Through the years after Ovak was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Ovak's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Claira was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Her family was turned out during the war. She and her family wandered west to less war torn lands. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. From his teen years he was always beautiful and desirable, so people have always doted on him. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature sword.

Motivation: To reunite with his old friends; and he wants to meet his childhood hero

She began work as a mercenary for hire. She would embark on any mission as long as the price was right.

History: When she was but 7 years old her parents immigrated from the west. When money was particularly tight she was walking through alleys when she overheard a Fletcher hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. She left for the west, certain she would find work there.

Motivation: Someone believes her a fraud; and to reunite with her old friends
