The family never returned to the mountains due to the painful memories there. Umpen took refuge in the ruined castle and found the beat up shield and armor he uses now. History: A powerful brothel owner made him what he is. In his formative years he discovered how persuasive he was. He began using that to his advantage selling useless wares at inflated prices. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Motivation: He has money and likes to spend it; and retire the richest man in the east

History: He was born at the edge of vast forest. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He bought a shortbow and has really upped his game hunting, due to his understanding of decoy and ambush.

History: He was born in the south. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Half-Elves in the south were limited. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
