History: Born to a Merchant, her father struggled to pay the bills. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Halflings in Merla's homeland. Merla decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. She hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure her.
