Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by goblins. Erdan was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the goblins.

History: From birth she was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. She was an apprentice working in her father's forge. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Hûmgrat was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Baern hails from a village terrorized by gnolls. He found a children's book about a Dwarf Sorcerer who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by gnolls, and he desires to right it; and he wants nothing more than to rejoin the army
