Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Smoking embodies much of what other species detest in the Tabaxis. His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in his reactions to snap at those who irritate him, Smoking is combative with any and all who dare try his patience in the slightest.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Smoking was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

Personality: She is fixated on the number 58. She counts her steps and bites of food to keep in track with it. She seems to be used to being ignored and not questioned about it. Her actions favor neither the good nor the evil, as she answers to a power that mortal women fail to acknowledge.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious eastern family, she was no stranger to responsibility. As a young child she wandered into the woods despite her father's warnings against it. Afterwards she claimed she had encountered dire rats who tried to eat her hand. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by dire rats. Anbera was horrified and prayed that her mother was alright. However, she heard that her mother had died fighting off the dire rats.

Motivation: Someone believes her a fraud; and her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and she desires to right it

Personality: She is happy with her job as a Engraver. She turns her eye from what people do, preferring to live and let live. She is a very good compulsive liar and kleptomaniac.

History: She was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. Her childhood dream was to be a Blacksmith, but she was a colossal failure. She used her abilities to trick people and travel the world for free.

Motivation: She has comitted a past crime that haunts her to this day; and she feels that her past leaves her morally obligated to help

Personality: Aside from being a little slow due to sleep deprivation he is generally quite perceptive. He notices little details and can draw good conclusions from them. He also is a firm believer in the manly ideal.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Through the years after Vrondiss was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Vrondiss's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: To get a good night's sleep; and to fight the greatest warriors and to fight in the greatest battles ever
