History: Born the oldest of a large religious western family, he was no stranger to responsibility. His mother worked until he suffered an accident while they were digging through a hill for a new route. He had to support his now crippled mother and took his mother's old job. He has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions

History: Uzza lived on a farm with her father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She has been saving her money to try and buy her brother's freedom.

Motivation: Her relatives are trying to arrange a marriage.
