History: From birth she was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. Through the years after Joan was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Joan's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: She comes from a rich northern family. She was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. Her spouse died of illness and she inherited everything. In the process these unassuming Humans became a terror of the countryside. She has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Crown-heir.

History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Wella was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She has been saving her money to try and buy her sister's freedom.
