When money was particularly tight she was walking through alleys when she overheard a Interpreter hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. She saw the violence of war and the aftermath so she converted to religion and dedicated herself to non-violence.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Ortegar was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He was a friend to animals and a trickster. In his defense of animals however he would do severe harm to people. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her mother always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. Through the years after Shautha was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Shautha's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.
