Heartbroken, Vassago never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his father had trained him before.

In her 14th year, her parents were killed by a giants raid, leaving Kadana alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.
