Ekk decided she wanted neither the life of her mother nor that of the evil petty criminals she associated with. During her early adolescence, she took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Personality: She is soft-spoken, optimistic and speaks nonstop, as she rather likes the sound of her voice. Her demeanor is somewhat feminine. She also has developed a complete distrust of the Bookbinder profession.

History: Nora was raised in a hard working conservative environment. She was one of the best in her class, and was picked up by her current employer. She quickly showed her capability and was soon promoted to a head role. She has gone from town to town till she finds a spot where she can set up a sustainable business.

Motivation: Balancing her hectic life and new Scribe responsibilities is difficult; and she has a rivalry with the church that dominates her actions

Personality: Cocky and sure of himself, he believes he is the best Bookbinder born in the past three hundred years. He is vehemently anti-magic. All of it is evil and corrupting in his opinion.

History: Born to a Server, his mother struggled to pay the bills. His childhood dream was to be a Server, but he was a colossal failure. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Bookbinder responsibilities is difficult.

Description: An imposing woman with a heavy stainless steel prosthetic right hand, she wears a simple burlap shirt and baggy pants. She conceals her bastard sword with her veritable burlap sack of a shirt. Her hair is auburn and curly. Her fierce violet eyes like to dwell on things.

Personality: She hates brigands. She views them as having robbed her home of its proper glory. To her fellows she is seen as friendly and intelligent, but is angry and unforgiving to the so called fatcats and any who do and have associated with them.

History: She was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. Being born in the east, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the east for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way west. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: To find somewhere to settle down; and an old rival family wants her found

Description: This woman stands a little under 4'8" and is a bit bulky. She is very muscular particularly in the legs. She is wearing dark clothing and a heavy breastplate, keeping many of her physical features obscured. Her yellow fur is still thick. Her face possesses mild wrinkles. Her smile is extraordinarily sincere though she does not smile often.

Personality: She considers herself the protector of her home. She feels this is her duty and calling. She disdains her fellow easterners, claiming they make her look unintelligent just for using an accent.

History: A studious child she never was much for a social life, not because she was unlikable, but because she did not seek it out. She worked as a nervous Servant and found it very stressful. She inherited the family business which she has now maintained for 10 years.

Motivation: Further expansion of business; and expand her business
