History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. His parents divorced when he was young, and his father gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: He feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help; and he's in love

History: Gifted from a young age, Gorga studied abroad. She always admired druidic-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. She has built up a small fortune and can afford her own way.

Motivation: Her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and she desires to right it; and she has money and likes to spend it
