Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Melissa embodies much of what other species detest in the Humans. She passes on several rewards to people in need. She makes a point to leave places better than she found them.

History: Her history is one of pain. She was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves her parents kept. Her parents divorced when she was young, and her father gained full cudstody. She was regularly beaten by her father, who blamed her for driving them apart. She now spends her time doing works of charity.

History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. He worked as a nervous Bather and found it very stressful. He is untrained/undisciplined, which makes him dangerous.

Motivation: He wants to meet his childhood hero; and he'd like to take his coworkers down a peg

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. Recently he has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.

Motivation: Regain custody of his son; and find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister

Personality: Gunnloda is a sociable creature first and foremost. She loves to listen to people at length before talking their ear off. She can carry on conversation for hours and will do so. She cannot resist a sob story and will often dote over anyone who has one.

History: Born in a small village she learned the ways of the warrior from her mother. Her first spouse was a Detective, they had one son, but her spouse won total custody. Without her spouse to temper her she grew out of control. By chance she met her brother recently and the two have been together since.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Fisher and was forced into it by her family; and to unite with her brother
